Hope Laurain born and raised in South Detroit (Monroe, Michigan)  started her work in theater when she was the age of 13 when she got casted as a Hot Box Girl in Monroe Middle School’s production of Guys and Dolls. From there she worked on various musicals at her community theater such as ensemble for High School Musical, Ensemble for Alice in Wonderland, and Ensemble for Sweeny Todd. It wasn’t until she got the part of Betty Paris in The Crucible where she was able to realize that plays were more of her calling. Since then she has worked her way to portray parts such as Cordelia in King Lear, Amanda Wingvalley in Christopher Durang’s As the Southern Belle Tolls, And Grandma in Edward Albee’s The American Dream.

Hope Laurain got her Associate Degree of Arts from Monroe County Community College, where she had the opportunity to work one on one with the acting faculty on many 10 minute play festivals. Working both on stage and backstage she had learned as much as she could in her short time at MCCC. Once her training was done she went to further her education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mi, earning a spot in their prestigious BFA acting program after only being there for one semester. Feeling a bit like a fish out of water Hope used her determination to continue to grow and hopefully succeed at her time in Wayne.

In her spare time Hope resides in her hometown where she was raised, reading a good book, binge watching tv shows with her cat, or sleeping the day away. She is also an very avid cosplayer and uses that as an outlet for creativity when she needs to just work with her hands and improve on her improv skills. If you are curious google Skillamane, she is sure you’ll find some interesting but, fun pictures.
